爲啥詞典開頭總是 "abandon"？
世界上第一本英語詞典于 1604 年由羅伯特 · 考得裏（Robert Cawdrey ) 編撰而成，起名爲 " 字母順序單詞表 "，到今天僅存世一本。打開看到第一個單詞，是 "abandon"。

"abandon" 解釋爲 " 放棄；中止 "，于是大家紛紛自嘲：這哪裏是詞彙書，明明就是預言書！我懂了，叫我們一開始就學會放棄，世上無難事，隻要肯 "abandon"。
言歸正傳，詞典編撰者可沒有讓大家放棄的想法，"abandon" 排在第一位，除了延續傳統，也是出于按照單詞的組成字母順序來排列的考慮。
"abandon" 此詞在十四世紀末期産生，其來源是拉丁語中的 "ad"，意爲 " 處于 " 和 "bannum"，意爲 " 宣告、命令、禁止 "，組合在一起演變成法語中的 "abandonner"，最後才成爲我們今天看到的 "abandon"。
事實上，"abandon" 并不止 " 放棄 " 那麽簡單，讓我們一起來看看它的意思和用法吧！
